Top to bottom the food/ presentation, decor/ambiance, the wait staff/service was incredible. So many interesting flavors and choices. Very elevated Spanish food and all cooked with love and care. The seafood selections were a personal favorite. Our waitress was EXTREMELY well versed in the courses and just an excellent server all around. Thank you Aikana!

Last weekend, I was fortunate enough to dine at Aikana. I'd never heard of it, so I'm thankful to my girls for introducing me to it. The meal got off to a bit of a rocky start. 1 of my friends had a drink that had a lil too much mezcal for me, so I didn't want that. My other friend had a coconut Old Fashioned, and I'm not a fan of coconut, so I didn't want that either. So I decided to try the gin-based Espumilla. Joe told me it wasn't too sweet, but Joe was wrong about that. It was SUPER sweet because of the meringue topper. I finished it, but it wasn't my favorite thing. Speaking of Joe, don't let the drink suggestion fool you - his service was impeccable! He was knowledgeable and provided great recommendations from the dinner menu that we thoroughly enjoyed. For Entradas (starters): We ordered the "Ceviche" and the "Pincho." The ceviche was bright, tart and acidic, but absolutely delicious. The wagyu of the "Pincho" just melted in our mouths. So decadent. For Fuertes (entrees): My friends ordered the Chef's Special: "Churrascaria" with wagyu (which was only an upcharge of a few dollars - like less than $10!), and the "Hen of the Woods." The hen of the woods mushrooms were meaty while still being light. The dish was covered in bonita shavings, but it didn't take away from the deliciousness of the meal. The peanut chimichurri on the Churrascaria platter needs to be bottled! It was sweet and spicy and had great texture. I'd put that on anything - and it was GREAT on the wagyu. I couldn't decided between the "Mussels Vori Vori" and the "Land & Sea," so I had both. The mussels were fresh and hearty; though they needed a sprinkle of sea salt, but the star of the show was the "Land & Sea!" Separately, all of the flavors were good, but when I combined the seared octopus (or the braised pork belly) with the black beans, the mojo verde sauce and the UBER-pickled veggies, I was in heaven. All of the flavors balanced each other in a harmonious way. The only thing I would suggest is finishing the "Land & Sea" in the restaurant...seared octopus does not reheat well. For Postres (desserts): Aikana gifted me with a espresso-chocolate cake for my birthday (thanks, guys), and boy was the espresso prevalent - but tasty. We also selected the "Arroz con Leche" and a raspberry dish. The "Arroz con Leche" was by far my fave! It was a thick, but more milky rice pudding with the flavor profile of horchata. The dusting of nutmeg was the perfect touch. The vibe is dark and calm. There was decent music in the background, but it didn't overpower our table conversation. Joe also invited us back for happy hour and said they have a really nice patio. This was an absolutely amazing birthday dinner. I will definitely be a repeat customer! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

Stunning food. As soon as you walk in you feel like you're walking into a tropical oasis with A beautiful array of Latin and South American cuisines. We tried Wagyu Arepas and yam and plantain dumplings to start both of which packed a ton of flavor. The Bandeja Aikana was definitely enough food for 4-5 people wanting a sample of a couple different meats. The mussels were flavorful and well cooked. Drinks were also well crafted and pretty big too! It took a while to get seated but they do serve drinks in the lounge area beforehand. Service was friendly and well paced. Overall highly recommend!

Absolutely awesome experience from The ambiance to the food and drinks . Celebrate my bday here and looks like there were quite a few others celebrating bdays. I ad the old fashioned which was really good, hubby had a beer . We had the oyster almost like guzpacho, yam veggie dumplings, beef appetizer, mussels, fish and beans and rice for the table . The desserts were pretty interesting. Over all good and service was excellent. We will be back

Such a fun, vibrant ambience, perfect for celebratory occasions on a date night or with friends! Immediately walking in, we noticed how stunning the decor and design of the restaurant was, even with a glass kitchen where you can see the staff working. We were celebrating a birthday so they brought us champagne and had a note on the table which was so sweet! The staff were kind and walked us through the menus. The drinks were divine and tasty, and the food was good as well! We got the lamb, scallops, and octupus. My friend said she had better octupus at other west loop restaurants. I thought the lamb was tasting and filling. The reason for the four stars is the price of the items. I do think they are a bit overpriced by a couple dollars, but the food does taste fresh and is flavorful. I definitely want to come back again to try more of their cocktails since this place is such a fun, vibrant, chic and cool experience!

Cocktails here are so unique and delicious! On the pricey side however definitely worth trying and then trying again haha.

Great Latin American food with great service and a cool atmosphere (lots of plants and jungle-esque decorations). Overall great experience and would definitely go back. Ordered the Bandeja Aikana as recommended by our server, included Picanha (ribeye), beef skewers, king prawns, blood sausage, tater tots and chicharron (crispy pork belly) For $164 it's not cheap but definitely good value, everything was very tasty. Picanha - perfect medium rare, great flavor and tender steak Beef skewers - great char, the peppers and onions were good Blood sausage (morcilla) - tasty, didn't have that blood/dirty taste that organs can get when not prepared/cooked well Sweetbread (mollejas) - great, good texture and went well with sauces provided Plantain arepas - best arepas I've had, sweet with soft texture and great accompaniment to rest of meal Chicharron - nice crispy skin Prawns - probably only slight negative note, two of the prawns weren't cleaned properly (digestive track removed) which was a bit disappointing, otherwise the prawns were cooked nicely Rice/beans with avocado and pico de gallo - this was unexpectedly delicious, I only wish it wasn't half beans, more rice, pico and avocado would've been great! Also ordered a custom cocktail, can't remember the name but it was smokey and delicious. Service was also super friendly, just attentive enough to not be annoying.

Loved the atmosphere of this place, so luxurious and cozy. Everything we had was delicious! The scallops, ceviche and octopus were highlights for me! Our group shared a bunch of starters and mains so we could taste a variety of items. The cocktails are stunning and so well made! I wanted to try the Clara and it did not disappoint. Only complaint was that our drinks took a long time to arrive (so long we kept enquiring if the order was put in) and came out at different times which was a little awkward. You can see right into the kitchen which is fun! They do add 20% to all parties of 5 or more. Overall a great experience, highly recommend!
